FINANCE COMMITTEE
NOVEMBER 14, 2022
The meeting was called to order by Alder Christine Posey at 6:32 p.m.
Roll Call: Alder Christine Posey and Alder Mara Helmke were present. Chairperson Chad
Kemp was going to be late.
Also present: City Administrator Adam Sayre, and Finance Director Brian Lamers.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of October 24, 2022 Finance Committee
minutes: Motion was made by Helmke, seconded by Posey to approve the October 24, 2022
Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 2-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding Resolution R-22-046 Approving the 2023 City of
Verona Budget: Lamers stated there are no amendments. Motion was made by Helmke,
seconded by Posey to recommend to City Council approval of Resolution R-22-046 Approving
the 2023 City of Verona Budget. Motion carried 2-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding Resolution R-22-047 Approving the Levying of
Property Taxes for the City Purposes: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to
recommend to City Council approval of Resolution R-22-047 Approving the Levying of
Property Taxes for the City Purposes. Motion carried 2-0.

Discussion and Possible Action regarding Cleaning Service Contracts with Park Cleaning LLC
for City Hall/Police and Senior Center: Sayre stated that the City is looking at going to Park
Cleaning LLC for the City Hall and Senior Center as of December 1, 2022. He went over some
of the issues with the current cleaning service and stated this company would be a little cheaper.
He stated this is the company that the city used previously. Motion was made by Helmke,
seconded by Posey to approve the cleaning service contracts with Park Cleaning LLC for City
Hall/Police and Senior Center. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding the City Investment Report-October 2022: Lamers
stated nothing to report.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding the Revenue and Expenditure Summary Report-
October 2022: Lamers stated that one area still of concern is the interest revenue budget.

Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Kemp,
seconded by Helmke to approve the payment of bills totaling $1,451,697.86. Motion carried 3-0.
Adjournment: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Helmke to adjourn the Finance
Committee Meeting at 6:40 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
