City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 13, 2023 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Chad Kemp at 6:30 p.m. Roll Call: Chairperson Chad Kemp, Alder Christine Posey and Alder Mara Helmke were present. Also present: Finance Director Brian Lamers. Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of October 23, 2023 Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Posey to approve the October 23, 2023 Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Resolution R-23-033 Approving the 2024 City of Verona Budget: Lamers stated there are no amendments. Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to recommend to City Council approval of Resolution R-22-033 Approving the 2024 City of Verona Budget. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Resolution R-23-034 Approving the Levying of Property Taxes for the City Purposes: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to recommend to City Council approval of Resolution R-23-034 Approving the Levying of Property Taxes for the City Purposes. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the City Investment Report-October 2023: Lamers stated nothing to report. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the Revenue and Expenditure Summary Report- October 2023: Lamers stated the City is on track for the most part at this point. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Kemp, seconded by Helmke to approve the payment of bills totaling $1,117,161.81. Motion carried 3-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 6:33 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
