MINUTES
FINANCE COMMITTEE
JUNE 24, 2024
The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mara Helmke at 6:31 p.m.
Roll Call: Chairperson Mara Helmke, Alder Christine Posey and Alder Patrick Lytle were
present.
Also present: City Administrator Jamie Aulik and Finance Director Brian Lamers
Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of June 10, 2024 Finance Committee
minutes: Motion was made by Lytle, seconded by Posey to approve the June 10, 2024 Finance
Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding Quote for Installation of a Door Operator System for
Administration Office: Lamers stated that the Administration Office has no door operator
system going into the Administration Office. There was a quote obtained for $3,487 and there
will be under $1,000 for electrical. The funds if approved would come out of Facility Revolving
Fund. Motion was made by Lytle, seconded by Posey to approve an estimated $4,500 for
installation of a door operating system for the Administration Office. Motion carried 3-0.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding 2025 Budget Items: Lamers stated there was an email
from Cody Stuckey a resident requested with the development of the 2025 budget would like to
support for the paving of Military Ridge Trail through Verona in the capital projects. Lamers
stated we received the 2025 Health Insurance rates which we usually do not get until September.
Lamers stated there is a higher percentage of employees on the GHC plan. He stated the general
employee portion of for GHC single plan is going up annually by $142.80 and family plan is going
up annually by $349.80. The general employer portion of GHC single plan is going up by $777.84
annually and family is going up by $1,892.04 annually. He stated the Police employee portion of
for GHC single plan is going up annually by $2.28 and family plan is going up annually by $5.64.
The general employer portion of GHC single plan is going up by $918.36 annually and family is
going up by $2,236.20 annually.
Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Posey,
seconded by Posey to approve the payment of bills totaling $847,239.34. Motion carried 3-0.

Meeting at 6:40 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
