City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE AUGUST 12, 2024 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mara Helmke at 6:30 p.m. Roll Call: Chairperson Mara Helmke, Alder Christine Posey were present and Alder Patrick Lytle was excused. Also present: City Administrator Jamie Aulik, Parks Director/Interim Public Works Director, Communication Manager Mara Trusty and Alder Beth Tucker Long Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of July 22, 2024 Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to approve the July 22, 2024 Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 2-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding a Patrol Truck Order Replacement utilizing additional Equipment Replacement Fund: Motion was made by Posey seconded by Helmke to approve to cancel the order for the 2022 truck from Lakeside and approve the purchase from I-State Truck for the amount not to exceed $262,650. Motion carried 2-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the updates to the Audio Video System in the Council Chambers with Utilizing Cable Fund Balance: Motion was made by Posey seconded by Helmke to approve the purchase of equipment using option 2, that was presented, for the amount not to exceed $175,000 utilizing Cable Fund Balance. Motion carried 2-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding 2025 Budget Items: None Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Helmke, seconded by Posey to approve the payment of bills totaling $1,633,207.84. Motion carried 2-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Posey, seconded by Helmke to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 6:57 p.m. Motion carried 2-0.
