City of Verona Finance Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES FINANCE COMMITTEE JULY 14, 2025 The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Mara Helmke at 6:00 p.m. Roll Call: Chairperson Mara Helmke, Alder Patrick Lytle and Alder Spencer Harrison were present. Also present: City Administrator Jamie Aulik and Finance Director Brian Lamers Public Comment: None Discussion and Possible Action regarding approval of June 23, 2025 Finance Committee minutes: Motion was made by Harrison, seconded by Lytle to approve the June 23, 2025 Finance Committee minutes with no changes noted. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding Additional Cost for Well #6 Rehabilitation: Lamers stated in the budget the estimated amount was $380,000 and as explained in the memo with the additional needs and replacements it is going to be an additional $109,000. After further discussion a motion was made by Helmke and seconded by Lytle to approve the additional cost of not to exceed $109,000 for Well #6. Motion carried 3-0. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the Revenue and Expenditure Summary Report-June 2025: Lamers stated nothing significant to report. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the City Investment Report-June 2025: Lamers stated nothing significant noted. Discussion and Possible Action regarding 2026 Budget Updates: Lamers stated so far with the new positions we are at about $706,000, which could change with the compensation study and when we start getting the benefits numbers. Capital so far is at approximately $11.8 million, with $7.3 million in governmental and $4.5 million in utilities. Discussion and Possible Action regarding the payment of bills: Motion was made by Harrison, seconded by Lytle to approve the payment of bills totaling $1,286,950.97. Motion carried 3-0. Adjournment: Motion was made by Helmke, seconded by Harrison to adjourn the Finance Committee Meeting at 6:25 p.m. Motion carried 3-0.
