PERSONNEL COMMITTEE
FEBRUARY 13, 2017
VERONA CITY HALL
1. The meeting was called to order by Heather Reekie at 6:35 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Heather Reekie and Scott Stewart. Elizabeth Doyle was excused absent. Also present Jeff
Mikorski, City Administrator.
3. Approval of minutes from December 16, 2016. Motion by Stewart, seconded by Reekie. Motion
carried 2-0.
4. Discussion and Possible Action regarding collective bargaining agreement with the Wisconsin
Professional Police Association (LEER). After discussion of the summary page that presented the
changes to the contract, a motion by Stewart to approve the collective bargaining agreement was,
seconded by Reekie. Motion carried 2-0.
5. Discussion and Possible Action re: A Wage Adjustment for Police Lieutenant Positions
and Authorizing the Use of 2017 Personnel Contingency Funds . Information was presented by Jeff
Mikorski for discussion. Personnel Committee requested additional information for an upcoming
meeting to review the proposed adjustment to Sargent and Lieutenant positions. No action was taken.
6. Discussion and Possible Action re: Consideration of Employment on Finance Director – Treasurer
position. After presentation of the employment agreement, motion by Stewart, seconded by Reekie to
positively refer the employment agreement between the City of Verona and Brian Lamers for the
Finance Director/Treasurer position. Motion carried 2-0.
7. Adjournment: Motion by Stewart, seconded by Reekie, to adjourn the meeting at 6:55 p.m. Motion
carried 2-0.

4. Discussion and Possible Action regarding collective bargaining agreement with the
Wisconsin Professional Police Association (LEER): The Personnel Committee may convene
in closed session as authorized by Section 19.85(1)(e) of the Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of
deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds, or
conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require
a closed session.
5. Discussion and Possible Action re: A Wage Adjustment for Police Lieutenant Positions
and Authorizing the Use of 2017 Personnel Contingency Funds
6. Discussion and Possible Action re: Consideration of Employment on Finance Director –
Treasurer position: The Personnel Committee may convene in closed session as authorized by
Section 19.85(1)(c) of the Wisconsin Statutes for the purpose of considering employment,
promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the
Personnel Committee has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility. The Personnel Committee may
reconvene in open session and take action on the closed session item.
