City of Verona Personnel Committee City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 MINUTES PERSONNEL COMMITTEE MARCH 13, 2017 VERONA CITY HALL 1. The meeting was called to order by Elizabeth Doyle at 6:44 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Elizabeth Doyle, Heather Reekie and Scott Stewart present. Also present Jeff Mikorski, City Administrator. 3. Approval of minutes from February 13, 2017. Motion by Doyle, seconded by Stewart. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Discussion and Possible Action regarding collective bargaining agreement with the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Local 311. After discussion of the summary page that presented the changes to the contract, a motion by Doyle to approve the collective bargaining agreement was seconded by Reekie. Motion carried 3-0. Doyle expressed that future collective bargaining contracts should include domestic partner language. 7. Adjournment: Motion by Stewart, seconded by Reekie, to adjourn the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Motion carried 3-0. Submitted by, Jeff Mikorski, ICMA-CM City Administrator City of Verona Jeff Mikorski, ICMA-CM City Administrator City Hall – 111 Lincoln Street Verona, WI 53593-1520 Office: (608)848-9943 Jeff.Mikorski@ci.verona.wi.us Summary Page of the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Firefighters Local 311 Term: Contract is a three year term beginning January 1, 2017 and ending December 31,2019 New Article: Longevity: All permanent full-time employees shall receive longevity pay based on their seniority, subject to the following schedule, terms, and conditions: - Effective the first day of the eleventh year of full-time service through completion of the fifteenth year of service, an employee shall receive an additional two percent (2%) to the employee’s base rate. - Effective the first day of the sixteenth year of full-time service through completion of the twentieth year of service, an employee shall receive an additional three percent (3%) to the employee’s base rate. - Effective the first day of the twenty first year of full-time service, an employee shall receive an additional four percent (4%) to the employee’s base rate. Article X Holidays: Easter Sunday and New Years Eve Day have been added to the list of holidays that provide time and a half pay for hours worked. Holiday bank is capped at 108 hours. Wages: A wage adjustment of 4% effective January 1, 2017 A wage adjustment of 3% effective January 1, 2018 A wage adjustment of 2% effective January 1, 2019 www.ci.verona.wi.us
