CITY OF VERONA POLICE AND FIRE COMMISSION MONDAY, MARCH 16, 2020 AT 6:00 P.M. VERONA POLICE DEPARTMENT 111 LINCOLN STREET MINUTES (Approved) 1. Call to Order by Delora Newton at 6:00 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Commission: Delora Newton, Paul Curtis, Louis Eifert and Cole Leystra. Also Present: Police Chief, Bernie Coughlin. 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Curtis, seconded by Eifert to approve the minutes of the November 4, 2019 and February 4, 2020 meetings of the Verona Police and Fire Commission. Motion Carried: 4-0. 4. Moved by Newton, seconded by Leystra to convene into CLOSED SESSION at 6:01 p.m., pursuant to WI State Statute 19.85 (1)(c) and (e), to consider employment, promotion, compensation or performance evaluation data of the candidates for Fire Chief in the Verona Fire Department. Roll Call: Paul Curtis, Cole Leystra, Louis Eifert, and Delora Newton. Motion Carried: 4-0. 5. Moved by Eifert, seconded by Curtis to return to OPEN SESSION at 6:35 p.m. for discussion and possible action regarding the closed session. Motion Carried: 4-0. 6. Moved by Newton, seconded by Curtis to extend Acting Fire Chief designation to Dan Machotka until June 30, 2020 or until a permanent fire chief has been named, whichever comes first. Motion carried 4-0. 7. Moved by Newton, seconded by Eifert to approve Personnel Orders 2020-05 & 2020-06. Motion carried 4-0. 8. Adjournment: MOVED by Leystra, seconded by Eifert to adjourn at 6:39 p.m. Motion Carried: 4-0.
