CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE APRIL 23, 2012 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Manley at 5:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Jeremy Charles, Scott Manley, and Evan Touchett. Others Present: Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to approve the minutes of the March 26, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 3/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a “Class A” Liquor, Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class C” Wine License for Edelweiss Cheese Authentic, WI, LLC located at 202 W Verona Ave. Motion by Charles, seconded by Touchett to recommend approval of the Licenses contingent upon the required completion of inspections by the building inspector. Motion carried 3/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Liquor License Premise Amendment for Wildcat Lanes located at 415 W Verona Ave. Motion by Charles, seconded by Touchett to recommend that the Common Council approve the premise amendment with the closing hours of the volleyball courts to be 10:00 p.m. Motion Carried 3/0. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Parade/Run/Walk Permit for a Mud Run on May 20, 2012 from Ryan Griessmeyer of Race Day Events, LLC. Motion by Charles, seconded by Touchett to recommend that the Common Council approve the permit for a Mud Run contingent upon the receipt of proof of insurance. Motion carried 3/0. 7. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary Class B Fermented Malt Beverage License for a Mud Run on May 20, 2012 from Mike O’Brien of Ice Inc. Motion by Charles, seconded by Touchett to recommend that the Common Council approve the Temporary Class B license. Motion Carried 3/0. 8. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Parade/Run/Walk Permit for a Mini-Triathlon on June 30, 2012 at Fireman’s Park from Ryan Griessmeyer of Race Day Events, LLC. Motion by Charles seconded by Toruchett to recommend approval of the Mini-Triathlon permit to the Common Council contingent upon the receipt of proof of insurance. Motion carried 3/0. 9. Discussion and possible action regarding an Agreement with the City of Madison for the use of the City of Madison Police Department Training Center located at 5702 Femrite Drive, Madison, WI. Motion by Touchett seconded by Charles to recommend approval to the Common Council of the Training Center Agreement. Motion carried 3/0. 2012-4-23 PS&W 10.
