CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE JULY 23, 2012 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Manley at 5:32 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Jeremy Charles, Scott Manley, and Evan Touchett who arrived at 5:37 p.m. Others Present: Dave Dresser, Police Lieutenant; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Charles, seconded by Manley to approve the minutes of the June 25, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding Resolution R-12-021 for an Intergovernmental Agreement for the Operation of an Impaired Driving Task Force. Motion by Charles, seconded by Touchett to recommend approval of Resolution R-12-021. Motion carried 3/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for Class A Fermented Malt Beverage license and Class A Liquor license for I & U Mart, LLC located at 101 East Verona Avenue (Uran Mezezi, Agent). Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to recommend that the council approve the application for the liquor license due to sale of business. Motion carried 3/0. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Cigarette/Tobacco license for I & U Mart, LLC located at 101 East Verona Avenue (Uran Mezezi, Agent). Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to recommend that the council approve the Cigarette/Tobacco license. Motion carried 3/0. 7. Adjournment.
