CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE AUGUST 13, 2012 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Manley at 5:34 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Jeremy Charles, Scott Manley, and Evan Touchett. Others Present: Matt Dart, Police Sergeant; Bill Burns, City Administrator; Ron Rieder, Public Works Director; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to approve the minutes of the July 23, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 3/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding Ordinance 12-819 amending the City of Verona Code of Ordinances Section 11-2-7 (Noise Regulations). The Waiver Request from J.P. Cullen & Sons was taken as a separate item. Motion by Charles, seconded by Manley to recommend approval of Ordinance 12-819 with the project name, location, timeline for requested exemption, and compliance with stationary noise limits language amendments made to Ordinance 12-819. Motion carried 3/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding a Noise Waiver Request from J.P. Cullen & Sons Ald. Charles withdrew from the participation in this discussion and action taken on the item. Motion by Manley seconded by Touchett to recommend the approval of the Waiver Request with the specified hour change in item 3. Motion carried 2/0 with Ald. Charles abstaining. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Parade/Run/Walk permit from Premier Event Management for an Ironkids Race on Saturday, August 25, 2012. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Charles to recommend that the council approve the application for the Ironkids event. Motion carried 3/0. 7. Adjournment.
