CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE AUGUST 27, 2012 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Manley at 5:34 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Scott Manley, and Evan Touchett. Jeremy Charles was absent and excused. Others Present: Bernie Coughlin, Police Chief; Bill Burns, City Administrator; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to approve the minutes of the August 13, 2012 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Parade/Run/Walk Permit from the Fairshare CSA Coalition for the ‘Bike the Barns’ charity bike ride on Sunday, September 16, 2012. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to approve the permit for the ‘Bike the Barns’ event. Motion carried 2/0. 5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Events Permit from Brad Zaugg, of BRAVA Enterprises, LLC for Hometown Days June 6-9, 2013. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to recommend that the Common Council approve the Special Events Permit for Hometown Days 2013 with the hours of the event as follows: Thursday, 6/6/13 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. Friday, 6/7/13 5 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Saturday, 6/8/13 12 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. Sunday, 6/9/13 12 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Motion carried 2/0. 6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Parade/Run/Walk permit from USA Triathlon for Ironman Wisconsin on Sunday, September 9, 2012. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Manley to recommend that the council approve the application for the Ironman event. Motion carried 2/0. 7. Adjournment.
