MINUTES
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Chair Scott Manley at 5:33
p.m.
2. Roll Call: Members Present: Scott Manley and Dale Yurs. Others Present: Bill
Burns; City Administrator, Bernie Coughlin; Police Chief, and Kami Lynch, City
Clerk.
3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to approve the
minutes of the May 13, 2013 meeting. Motion carried 2/0.
4. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Event
Permit requiring an Amplifying Device Permit for a wedding reception on
June 29, 2013 at 672 Birch Ct. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to
approve the Special Event Permit and Amplifying Device Permit for the
wedding reception on June 29, 2013. Motion carried 2/0.
5. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Event
Permit for a Bike for Boys & Girls Club charity bicycle ride to take place on
Saturday, July 20, 2013 from Janine Stephens, Boys & Girls Club of Dane
County. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to approve the Special Event
Permit for a charity bicycle ride on July 20, 2013. Motion carried 2/0.
6. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Event
Permit for ‘Verona Fest’ August 2-3, 2013 from Mike O’Brien, Ice Inc. Motion
by Yurs, seconded by Manley to recommend approval of the Special Event
Permit for ‘Verona Fest’ August 2-3, 2013 to the Common Council. Motion
carried 2/0.
7. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Temporary
Class B Beer license for ‘Verona Fest’ August 2-3, 2013 from Mike O’Brien, Ice
Inc. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to recommend approval of the
Temporary Class B Beer license for ‘Verona Fest’ August 2-3, 2013 to the
Common Council. Motion carried 2/0.
8. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Class B Beer
license from Carl Nolen, Agent, Wisconsin Brewing Company, located at 1079
American Way. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to recommend that the
Council approve the Class B Beer license for Wisconsin Brewing Company, Carl
Nolen, Agent. Motion carried 2/0.
9. Discussion and possible action regarding the 2013-2014 Liquor License
Renewals. Motion by Manley, seconded by Yurs to recommend approval of
the 2013-2014 liquor license renewals with contingencies on two licenses:
The Heights must pay past-due invoices to two wholesalers by July 10, 2013
and Avanti’s must obtain a valid Seller’s Permit from the State, pay in full the
2012 Personal Property taxes, pay in full delinquent sewer & water utility

charges, and a pay a past-due invoice to a wholesaler all by July 10, 2013.
Motion carried 2/0.
10. Discussion and possible action regarding the 2013-2014 Cigarette/Tobacco
License Renewals. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to recommend that
the Common Council approve the 2013-2014 Cigarette/Tobacco licenses.
11. Adjournment. Motion by Yurs, seconded by Manley to adjourn the meeting at
6:20 p.m. Motion carried 2/0.
