CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE AUGUST 26, 2013 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Ald. Yurs at 5:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Members Present: Michael Bare and Dale Yurs. Ald. Manley was absent and excused. Others Present: Sgt. Jesse Christensen, Bill Burns, City Administrator; and Kami Lynch, City Clerk. 3. Approval of Minutes. Motion by Bare, seconded by Yurs to approve the minutes from the July 22, 2013 meeting. Motion carried 2/0. 4. Discussion and possible action regarding an application for a Special Event Permit for ‘Ironman’ on Sunday, September 8, 2013 from Ryan Richards, World Triathlon Corp. Sgt. Christensen provided information on the event discussing traffic control at the various intersections affected by the race and stating that there are no changes to the event from previous years. Motion by Bare, seconded by Yurs to recommend approval of the ‘Ironman’ event. Motion carried 2/0. 5. Adjournment.
