CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE OCTOBER 24, 2016 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Stewart at 5:56 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Scott Stewart, and Evan Touchett present. Also in attendance: Police Chief Bernie Coughlin, and City Clerk Ellen Clark. 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Stewart, seconded by Touchett, to approve the minutes of the October 10, 2016 Public Safety and Welfare meeting. Motion carried 2-0. 4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Ordinance No. 16-883 Amending Section 10-1-26 of the Code of Ordinances to Restrict Overnight Parking in the Public Parking Lot at the Corner of Park Lane and S. Franklin Street. Motion by Stewart, seconded by Touchett, to recommend to Common Council to approve Ordinance No. 16-883 amending Section 10-1-26 of the Code of Ordinances. This amendment restricts overnight parking in the new public parking lot at the corner of Park and Franklin. Parking would not be allowed between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Chief Coughlin will work with DPW Jacobson to post the appropriate signs in the lot. Motion carried 2-0. 5. Adjournment.
