MINUTES
1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Stewart at 6:00 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Scott Stewart, Heather Reekie and Evan Touchett present. Also in attendance:
Police Chief Bernie Coughlin, City Clerk Ellen Clark and Le Jordan.
3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett, to approve the minutes

4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Temporary Class “B”/”Class B” Retailer’s License
Application from Verona Area Chamber of Commerce for the Verona Wine and Dine
event at Holiday Inn Express, 515 West Verona Avenue, on October 27, 2016. The
Verona Wine and Dine is an event to benefit the Badger Prairie Needs Network Food
Pantry. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Reekie, to approve a Temporary Class
“B”/”Class B” Retailer’s License application from Verona Area Chamber of Commerce for
the Verona Wine and Dine event at Holiday In Express, 515 West Verona Avenue, on
October 27, 2016. Chief Coughlin has no reservations with this license application.
Motion carried 3-0.
5. Discussion Re: The Parking Lot at Park Avenue and S. Franklin Street. Stewart updated
the committee on past discussions regarding overnight parking in this and other parking
lots in the city. Chief Coughlin stated the only other parking lots owned by the city are
the parking lots in the city parks. Parking in those lots is allowed during park hours only.
Touchett is in favor of standardizing parking lot regulations across the city. The
consensus of the committee was to consider the ordinance regarding parking
restrictions in the Park Avenue and S. Franklin Street parking lot at the October 24, 2016
meeting.
6. Discussion Re: A Request for Lighted Stop Signs on Cross Country Road at Hemlock
Drive. Coughlin stated a citizen has requested flashing stop signs at this corner. There
have been complaints of cars not stopping at this intersection. This is a popular crossing
place for school children. This may also be a good place for a crossing guard. The
consensus of the committee was for Chief Coughlin to work with DPW Jacobson on
determining the potential cost of installing the stop signs.
7. Adjournment. Motion by Touchett, seconded by Reekie, to adjourn at 6:59 p.m. Motion
carried 3-0.
