CITY OF VERONA PUBLIC SAFETY AND WELFARE COMMITTEE NOVEMBER 21, 2016 VERONA CITY HALL MINUTES 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Scott Stewart at 5:34 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Scott Stewart and Evan Touchett present. Heather Reekie absent and excused. Also in attendance: Police Chief Bernie Coughlin, City Clerk Ellen Clark, Greg Hedrich and Gred Frankov. 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Touchett, seconded by Stewart, to approve the minutes of the November 14, 2016 Public Safety and Welfare meeting. Motion carried 2-0. 4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: An Application for a Combination Reserve “Class B” Intoxicating Liquor License and Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverages License from GRG Management, LLC, d/b/a Monk’s Bar & Grill, 1050 North Edge Trail, Verona, WI 53593, Gregory Hedrich, Agent. Motion by Stewart, seconded by Touchett, to recommend to the Common Council to approve the application for a Combination Reserve “Class B” Intoxicating Liquor License and Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverages License from GRG Management, LLC, d/b/a/ Monk’s Bar & Grill, 1050 North Edge Trail, Verona, WI 53593, Gregory Hedrich, Agent, contingent upon completion of satisfactory building and fire inspections by city staff. This license will allow the applicant to sell wine, beer and liquor at their business, which is planned to open in mid-December. The remodel at 1050 North Edge Trail is not yet ready for building or fire inspection. Staff estimates that the building will be ready for inspection in two to three weeks. Therefore, approval of this license will be contingent upon satisfactory completion of those inspections. The owners of the business are aware of and agree to this contingency. Motion carried 2-0. 5.
