MINUTES
1. Call to order: Heather Reekie called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Heather Reekie, Katie Kohl and Evan Touchett were present. Also present:, City
Administrator Adam Sayre.
3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Touchett, seconded by Kohl, to approve the minutes from
the December 14, 2020 Public Safety and Welfare Committee meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: A Change of Agent request from Madison Epicureans,
LLC, d/b/a Pasqual’s Cantina, 100 Cross Country, Verona, WI 53593
Madison Epicureans, LLC has requested a change of agent for their Class “B” Reserve Liquor
License at Pasqual’s Cantina from Seth Wilson to Julie Chamberlin.
Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett, to recommend to the council to approve a change
of agent request from Madison Epicureans, LLC, d/b/a Pasqual’s Cantina, 100 Cross Country,
Verona, WI 53593. Motion carried 3-0.
5. Adjournment: Motion by Touchett, seconded by Kohl, to adjourn at 6:04 p.m. Motion
carried 3-0.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Verona Public Safety and Welfare
Committee will hold its meeting as a virtual meeting. The Public Safety and
Welfare Committee will not meet at City Hall, 111 Lincoln Street. Members of
the Public Safety and Welfare Committee and Staff will join the meeting by
using Zoom Webinar, as described immediately below.

1. Call to order: Heather Reekie called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m.
2. Roll Call: Heather Reekie, Katie Kohl and Evan Touchett were present. Also present: Police
Chief Bernie Coughlin, City Administrator Adam Sayre.
3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Touchett, seconded by Kohl, to approve the minutes from
the November 9, 2020 Public Safety and Welfare Committee meeting. Motion carried 3-0.
4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Ordinance 20-971 Amending Section 10-1-27 of the
Code of Ordinances relating to parking restrictions in median areas.
Reekie explained that there is an issue with parking on roads with medians. It will be too
hard for the plows to get through
Chief Coughlin explained that all of the requests came from the Public Works Department in
regards to snow removal. The part on Winchester Pass, from the intersection of Chad’s
Crossing to the intersection of East Whispering Pines Way, will be just for the winter
months. All others will be all year round.
Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett, to recommend to the council to approve
Ordinance 20-971 Amending Section 10-1-27 of the Code of Ordinances relating to parking
restrictions in median areas. Motion carried 3-0.
5. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Ordinance 20-972 Amending Section 10-1-29 of the
Code of Ordinances relating to winter parking restrictions.
Motion by Reekie, seconded by Kohl, to recommend to the council to approve Ordinance
20-972 Amending Section 10-1-29 of the Code of Ordinances relating to winter parking
restrictions. Motion carried 3-0.
6. Adjournment: Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett, to adjourn at 6:39 p.m. Motion
carried 3-0.
