Call to order: Heather Reekie called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Heather Reekie, Katie Kohl and Evan Touchett were present. Also present: Police Chief Bernie Coughlin, City Administrator Adam Sayre. 3. Approval of Minutes: Motion by Touchett, seconded by Kohl, to approve the minutes from the November 9, 2020 Public Safety and Welfare Committee meeting. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Ordinance 20-971 Amending Section 10-1-27 of the Code of Ordinances relating to parking restrictions in median areas. Reekie explained that there is an issue with parking on roads with medians. It will be too hard for the plows to get through Chief Coughlin explained that all of the requests came from the Public Works Department in regards to snow removal. The part on Winchester Pass, from the intersection of Chad’s Crossing to the intersection of East Whispering Pines Way, will be just for the winter months. All others will be all year round. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Touchett, to recommend to the council to approve Ordinance 20-971 Amending Section 10-1-27 of the Code of Ordinances relating to parking restrictions in median areas. Motion carried 3-0. 5. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Ordinance 20-972 Amending Section 10-1-29 of the Code of Ordinances relating to winter parking restrictions. Motion by Reekie, seconded by Kohl, to recommend to the council to approve Ordinance 20-972 Amending Section 10-1-29 of the Code of Ordinances relating to winter parking restrictions.
