Roll Call: Phil Hoechst, Spencer Harrison and Lachlann Swanson were present. Garrett Wilson, Race Day Events, LLC, for the Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon on Saturday June 21, 2025 9. Motion by Harrison, seconded by Swanson to approve a Special Event Permit Application from J. Garrett Wilson, Race Day Events, LLC, for the Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon on Saturday June 21, 2025, contingent upon final background check. Motion carried 3-0. 10. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Special Event Permit Application from Hans Paulson, Infinity Martial Arts, for the Kickathon on Saturday, July 26, 2025 Motion by Hoechst, seconded by Harrison to approve a Special Event Permit Application from Hans Paulson, Infinity Martial Arts, for the Kickathon on Saturday, July 26, 2025, contingent upon receipt of insurance. Motion carried 3-0. 11. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Outdoor Burning Ordinances Harrison stated that some of the regulations are subjective. He likes the guidelines and is in support of keeping some outdoor burning. Hoechst stated that there should be some sort of dimensions. Discussion and Possible Action Re: A Special Event Permit application and Temporary Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class B” Wine license from Le Jordan, Verona Area Chamber of Commerce, for Hometown Days on Friday, June 6 - Sunday, June 8 Hometown Days will again be located at Festival Park located behind City Hall. The general layout of the festival is generally consistent with previous years. Fireworks will be held on Friday night. Other weekend activities include pony rides, a petting zoo, live music, food stands, carnival rides, the Hometown Rumble car show, and the Hometown Days parade. The Temporary Class “B” Retailer’s License allows the Verona Area Chamber of Commerce to sell beer and wine at the Hometown Days event. The beer tent will be open Friday through Sunday. Last year the City approved extending the area where beer could be consumed. There were no issues. This year, the Chamber is requesting that consumption be allowed in the carnival area. Children 17 and under will be allowed in the beer tent with a parent until 7:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday nights, and until 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. A safe ride program will be provided. A licensed bartender will be on site during all beer tent hours. Staff recommends approval. Motion: Recommend that the Common Council approve a Special Event Permit application and Temporary Class “B” Fermented Malt Beverage and “Class B” Wine license from Le Jordan, Verona Area Chamber of Commerce, for Hometown Days on Friday, June 6 - Sunday, June 8. 6. Discussion and Possible Action Re: Full-Service Retail Outlet for Hop Haus to Operate at the Verona Little League Tournament Series on May 31, June 7, 14, 28, July 12, and 26, 2025 at 601 E Verona Ave. Hop Haus is requesting a full-service retail outlet to serve alcoholic beverages at the Verona Little League Tournament Series taking place on May 31, June 7, 14, 28, July 12, and 26, 2025. This temporary outlet is allowed under their state-issued retail license. The Department of Alcohol Beverages will provide final approval after the City signs off on the outlet. This approval will be contingent upon approval by the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Commission at their May 21st meeting.
