CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE MONDAY, JANUARY 14, 2013 1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson William McGilvray at 5:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Present: William McGilvray, Clark Solowicz. Excused: Richard Streich. Also present: Bob Gundlach, City Engineer, Bill Burns, City Administrator, Mayor Jon Hochkammer, Ron Rieder, Public Works Director. 3. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve the minutes of the November 12, 2012 meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 2-0. 4. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve the Professional Services Agreement for 2013 Storm Water Services not to exceed $10,000.00. Motion carried 2-0. 5. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve the Professional Services Agreement for Construction Related Services of the Lincoln Street Culvert and Channel Modifications Project not to exceed $11,900.00. Motion carried 2-0. 6. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve Change Order #1 for Well #5 Construction and Testing in the amount of $10,326.00. Motion carried 2-0. 7. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve Change Order #2 for Well #5 Construction and Testing. The result of this Change Order is no change to the contract amount. Motion carried 2-0. 8. Discussion regarding the December 20, 2012 blizzard: Ron Rieder reported that the City submitted costs related to the storm to Dane County Emergency Management in the amount of $63,628.00. 9. Discussion regarding 2013 construction projects: 2013 Street Rehabilitation Project is expected to be bid in February and awarded in March with an anticipated start date in April. Lincoln Street Culvert and Channel Modifications Project is expected to be bid in March and awarded in April with an anticipated start date in June. 2013 Surface Treatment Project is scheduled to be bid in April and awarded in May with an anticipated start date of June. The Booster Station and Ground Reservoir have been awarded and are slated to begin in March with a completion date of August 31, 2013. Engineering for the Lincoln Street Reconstruction Project will not begin until March with construction to begin in August. Status of the Epic Campus TIA was discussed; a draft of the report should be completed in February. 10. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to adjourn. Motion carried 2-0.
