Public Works, Sewer and Water

CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE MONDAY, FEBRUARY 11, 2013 1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson William McGilvray at 5:30 p.m. 2. Roll Call: Present: William McGilvray, Clark Solowicz, Richard Streich. Also present: Bob Gundlach, City Engineer, Bill Burns, City Administrator, Mayor Jon Hochkammer, Ron Rieder, Public Works Director, Phil Salkin. 3. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Streich, to approve the minutes of the January 14, 2013 meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 3-0. 4. Discussion regarding the sewer and water billing at 102 Park Lane: MOVED by Solowicz, seconded by Streich, to defer the item to a future meeting of the Committee and requested Ron Rieder to bring forward additional information. Motion carried 3-0. 5. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve the revisions to the Stormwater Ordinances. Motion carried 3-0. 6. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Solowicz, to approve payment for damages as reported for a sewer backup on Richard Street on January 15, 2013. The addresses affected were 308 N. Main Street and 408 N. Shuman Street. Motion carried 3-0. 7. Discussion regarding office staffing and positions at the Public Works Facility: The City Administrator and Director of Public Works presented a Public Works office staffing recommendation. The Committee was supportive of the recommendation and suggested that the City Administrator take the recommendation as presented to the Personnel Committee. 8.
