CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE MONDAY, JUNE 13, 2016 1. The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Touchett at 5:00pm. 2. Roll Call: Present: Evan Touchett, Luke Diaz, Mac McGilvray. Also present: Ron Rieder, Director of Public Works; Theran Jacobson, Director of Public Works; Jeff Montpas, City Engineer; Jodi Dobson, Baker Tilly Virchow Krause, LLP. 3. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Diaz, to approve the minutes of the May 23, 2016 meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 3-0. 4. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approval of the Professional Services Agreement with MSA Professional Services for Right of Way Acquisition for the CTH M/CTH PD Intersection Project in the amount of $65,000.00. Motion carried 3-0. 5. MOVED by McGilvray, seconded by Diaz, to recommend approval of the Consulting Services Agreement for Downtown Streets Reconstruction Phase I for Construction Related Services in the amount not to exceed $32,550.00. Motion carried 3-0. 6. Discussion of excess property on N. Nine Mound Road known as Roth property. Environment assessment to be performed. Dwelling proposed to be demoed once environmental assessment is cleared. Discussion and possible action at June 27, 2016 Public Works Committee Meeting. 7. Discussion regarding reclamation of the Old Quarry Site on CTH M/South Main Street. Jacobson and Rieder present current functionality and plan for Old Quarry Site. Discussion and possible action at June 27, 2016 Public Works Committee Meeting. 8. Touchett excused himself from the meeting to attend the Finance Committee Meeting at 5:29pm. 9. Discussion regarding 2016 Sewer Utility Rate Study. Baker Tilly Virchow Krause presented rate study. Committee approved a two-step rate increase; July 1, 2016 and January 1, 2017 rate increase dates. Committee requested additional information on ordinance examples for neighboring communities within Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District service area. Baker Tilly Virchow Krause will present findings to committee for final action at June 27, 2016 Public Works Committee Meeting. 10.
