CITY OF VERONA MINUTES PUBLIC WORKS/SEWER & WATER COMMITTEE MONDAY, MARCH 26, 2018 1. The meeting was called to order by Mr. Diaz at 5:37pm. 2. Roll Call: Present: Luke Diaz, Chad Kemp. Evan Touchett absent and excused. Also present: Theran Jacobson, Director of Public Works; Jeff Mikorski, City Administrator; Jeff Montpas, City Engineer, AECOM; Kimberly Wethal, Verona Press. 3. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Kemp, to recommend approve the minutes of the February 26, 2018 meeting of the Public Works/Sewer and Water Committee. Motion carried 2-0. 4. Jacobson provided an update of the project regarding offer to purchase lands necessary on Transportation Project Plat 100-00-53100-230-165 for Project ID 2017 113, pedestrian improvements. 5. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Kemp, to convene in closed session, as authorized by Wisconsin Statute 19.85(1)(e), for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the purchase of public properties, the investing of public funds or conducting other specified public business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons deem a closed session necessary, regarding offer to purchase lands necessary on Transportation Project Plat 100-00-53100-230-165 for Project ID 2017 113, pedestrian improvements. On roll call: Alder Diaz – Aye; Alder Kemp – Aye. Motion carried 2-0. Committee convened in closed session at 5:40pm. City Staff remained for closed session. CLOSED SESSION 6. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Kemp, to reconvene in open session. Motion carried 2-0. The Committee reconvened in open session at 5:48pm. No action was taken in closed session. 7. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Kemp, to recommend proceeding with land acquisition as discussed in closed session. Motion carried 2-0. 8. MOVED by Diaz, seconded by Kemp, to adjourn at 5:50pm.
