Motion passed 3-0 6. Discussion and Possible Action: Sidewalk, curb, and driveway apron replacement with respect to tree growth. Staff explained issues and options with street trees with regards to sidewalk replacement, showing an example on Harvest Lane. Committee unanimously recommended removal of the tree. 7. Staff Report Shadey Bend South Main Street Pedestrian Corridor Page 1 / 1  Public Works Department 410 Investment Court Verona, WI 53593 Phone: (608) 845-6695 August 29, 2025 Subject: Edward Street Construction – Bid Award Recommendation City of Verona Verona Project: 2025-101 To Bryan Manning, Director of Public Works Pursuant to the Official Notice to Bidders, sealed bids for the subject project were received via the Quest CDN online bidding platform on August 28, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. I have reviewed the bids received and have included a bid tabulation and the apparent low bidder bid bond for your information. This letter serves as written recommendation concerning the contract award. Three contractors submitted bids for the project. All contractors who submitted bids were prequalified and submitted bid bonds. The apparent low bid was submitted by Wolf Paving Co., Inc. for $443,100.00. The second low bid was from Parisi Construction, LLC for $499,999.99. The engineering estimate, excluding contingency, was $426,295.00. This indicates that the bids are reasonable and representative of the work involved. It is my opinion that the low apparent bidder, Wolf Paving Co. submitted a responsive bid and is qualified and capable of performing the work as specified. Wolf Paving Co., Inc has performed work in the City of Verona as recently as this current year. It is therefore recommended that a contract be awarded to Wolf Paving Co. Inc. in the amount of $443,100.00.
