On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to accept and refer the foregoing bids to the Purchasing
Department and Various Departments for review and recommendation back to
the Board for award. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following
vote:

C. ID-14-0599 Vicksburg Convention Center Updates
Ms. Julie Ford, of the Vicksburg Convention Center, came before the Board to
inform the public of the upcoming events at the Vicksburg Convention Center for
the month of October, 2014 and invited the public to attend.
The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Ford for attending the meeting.
D. ID-14-0615 Authorize Board of Mayor and Aldermen to partner with Good Shepherd
Community Center to obtain and administer FY2015 grant funding from
the Mississippi Department of Human Services for and on behalf of the
Good Shepherd Community Center

On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to authorize the Board of Mayor and Aldermen to partner
with Good Shepherd Community Center to obtain and administer FY2015 grant

the Good Shepherd Community Center. The motion was adopted unanimously by

Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from Lendsi Radio, LLC
for Vicksburg and Warren Central High School Football Games ( October and
November) will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and
resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the
moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg.
On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and
unanimously passed, The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg approved

H. ID-14-0618 Approve request from Greater Grove Street M.B. Church for matching
funds in the amount of $10,000.00 pursuant to Section 21-19-65 of the

Sunbelt Sealing, Inc. and Authorize Mayor to execute contract [AIP Project No.

On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and

the purchase of ad from Westside Theatre Foundation for the Downtown Open
Air Movie in the amount of $300.00, and approve permission to use City property
(barricades) to close the 1000 Block of Washington Street. The motion was

from The City of Vicksburg. The motion was adopted unanimously by the

Alderman Mayfield moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to
determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was
