ID-16-0196 Receive Crime Statistic Report for January 2016 Attachments: Crime Stats - Jan 2016 On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to receive the Crime Statistic Report for January 2016. Weed Control On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to authorize the City Clerk to advertise Sealed Bids for Weed Control. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson F. ID-16-0195 Authorize Mayor to execute Application and Agreement with Microbilt Corporation Attachments: Microbilt Corporation On motion of Alderman Thompson, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to authorize the Mayor to execute Application and Agreement with Microbilt Corporation. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson Executive Session: Alderman Thompson moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Thompson, Alderman Mayfield. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. Alderman Thompson moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for Longevity Pay in the City Clerk's Officer (1), Fire Department (1); New Hire in the Police Department (1); Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (5), Water Maintenance Department (1); Recension of Action in the Street Department (1); Termination in the Police Department (1), Street Department (1). The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Thompson, Alderman Thompson. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for Longevity Pay in the City Clerk's Officer (1), Fire Department (1); New Hire in the Police Department (1); Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (5), Water Maintenance Department (1); Recension of Action in the Street Department (1); Termination in the Police Department (1), Street Department (1). The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Thompson, Alderman Mayfield, Nancy Thomas - City Attorney, Walter W. Osborne, Jr. - City Clerk, Walterine Langford - Human Resource Director, Brian Boykins - Mayor’s Administrative Assistant, Danitta Reed - Southward's Administrative Assistant. Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson Personnel Matters: A. ID-16-0203 Longevity - City Clerk's Office (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Longevity Pay for Deputy Clerk from $18.23 per hour to $18.32 per hour in the City Clerk's Office, for fifteen (15) years of service. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson B. ID-16-0204 Longevity - Fire Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Longevity Pay for a Captain from $13.45 per hour to $13.52 per hour in the Fire Department, for fifteen (15) years of service. ID-16-0205 New Hire - Police Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the New Hire for a Crossing Guard at $10.00 per hour in the Police Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson D. ID-16-0206 Pay Adjustments - Police Department (5) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustments for Officer at $16.05 pe hour to $16.25 per hour, Officer from $17.37 per hour to $17.57 per hour, Investigator from $18.70 per hour to Patrol Officer at $17.70 per hour, Officer from $15.40 per hour to Investigator at $16.40 per hour, Officer from $16.60 per hour to Investigator at $17.60 per hour in the Police Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson E. ID-16-0207 Pay Adjustment - Water Maintenance Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustment for Laborer from $7.25 per hour to $8.00 per hour in the Water Maintenance Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson F. ID-16-0208 Recension of Action Form - Street Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve recension of an Action Form dated February 10, 2016 for the hiring of an Asphalt Foreman in the Street Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson G. ID-16-0210 Termination - Police Department (1) Set Hearing Date for February 25, 2016 H. ID-16-0209 Termination - Street Department (1) On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Termination for Sweeper Driver in the Street Department, effective February 16, 2016. ID-16-380 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, and unanimously passed, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg adjourned to meet 10 o’clock a.m., Thursday, February 25, 2016, to take up and act upon any and all matters that may come before the Board.
