Ms. Stacey Massey, of the Southern Cultural Heritage Center came before the
Board to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Southern Cultural
Heritage Center for the month of April 2017 and invited the public to attend.
The Mayor and Alderman thanked Ms. Massey for attending the meeting.

1. Permission to hold Vicksburg Vintage Motorcycle Show in the grass
lot at the corner of Grove and Washington Street (Farmer's Market) on

Mayor Flaggs stated that purchasing an advertisement from River City Kickball &
Social Sports will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities and
resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be helpful toward advancing the
moral, financial and other interest of the City of Vicksburg.
On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, and unanimously
passed, The Mayor and Alderman of the City of Vicksburg approved sponsor ad
from River City Kickball & Social Sports in the amount of $3,000.00. The motion
was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

A discussion was held. No action was taken.
Executive Session:
Alderman Thompson moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to
determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was
seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman
Thompson, Alderman Mayfield. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously
adopted.
The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive
session. Alderman Mayfield moved to go into executive session to discuss
Personnel Action Forms for New Hires in the Parks and Recreation Maintenance
Department (3), Right of Way Department (3); Pay Adjustment in the
Recreation/Tennis Helper (1); Suspension in the Fire Department (1);
Administrative Leave Request in the Police Department (1); Department Transfer
in the Water Maintenance Department (1). The motion was seconded by
Alderman Thompson, and upon vote being taken, the following voting aye: Mayor
Flaggs, Alderman Thompson, Alderman Mayfield. The motion was adopted
unanimously.
The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to
discuss Personnel Action Forms for New Hires in the Parks and Recreation
Maintenance Department (3), Right of Way Department (3); Pay Adjustment in the
Recreation/Tennis Helper (1); Suspension in the Fire Department (1);
Administrative Leave Request in the Police Department (1); Department Transfer
in the Water Maintenance Department (1).
The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session.

and Aldermen voted to approve the New Hires for Mechanic at $11.50 per
hour, Two (2) Seasonal Laborers at $7.75 per hour in the Parks and
Recreation Maintenance Department. The motion was adopted unanimously
by the following vote:

B. ID-17-0484 New Hires - Right of Way Department (3)
On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to approve New Hires for Three (3) Seasonal Laborers at
$7.75 per hour in the Right of Way Department. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:

C. ID-17-0485 Pay Adjustment - Recreation/Tennis Helper (1)
On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustment for Tennis Helper from $8.00
per hour to $8.25 per hour in the Recreation/Tennis Program. The motion was
adopted unanimously by the following vote:

D. ID-17-0486 Suspension - Fire Department (1)
On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to approve Suspension for Firefighter for one (1) shift
(24 hours) in the Fire Department. Employee violated Vicksburg Fire
Department Standard Operating Guideline 12.1.75 Attendance Policy. The
motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

E. ID-17-0487 Administrative Leave Request - Police Department (1)
On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to approve the Administrative Leave Request for
Crossing Guard in the Police Department, they must keep your supervisors
informed of your progress in returning to work. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:

On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to approve Department Transfer for Laborer at $8.25 per
hour in the Landscape Department to Laborer at $8.25 per hour in the Water
Maintenance Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the
following vote:
