On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and
Aldermen held a discussion on property located at 1210 Finney Street, and voted
to grant a sixty (60) day extension with a thirty (30) day progress report. The
motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

D. ID-17-0495 Approve request from Director of Parks and Recreation to host Fun
Time Summer Camp at the Jackson Street Community Center from

Golf Program for its Second Annual Gator Golf classic on Friday, June 2, 2017 in
the amount of $100.00. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following

On motion of Mayor Flaggs, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and
Aldermen voted to approve Claims Docket. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:
Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Thompson
Executive Session:
Alderman Thompson moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to
determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was
seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman
Thompson, Alderman Mayfield. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously
adopted.
The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive
session. Alderman Mayfield moved to go into executive session to discuss
Personnel Action Forms for New Hire in the Recreation/City Pool (1), Street
Department (1), Recreation Programs (1), Recreation Programs/City Pool (1); Pay
Adjustments in the Police Department (3), Fire Department (1); Resignation in the
Street Department (1), Suspension in the Sewer Department (1); Request
Permission to Post for Seasonal Worker in the Airport Department (1). The
motion was seconded by Alderman Thompson, and upon vote being taken, the
following voting aye: Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Thompson, Alderman Mayfield.
The motion was adopted unanimously.
The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to
discuss Personnel Action Forms for New Hire in the Recreation/City Pool (1),
Street Department (1), Recreation Programs (1), Recreation Programs/City Pool
(1); Pay Adjustments in the Police Department (3), Fire Department (1);
Resignation in the Street Department (1), Suspension in the Sewer Department
(1); Request Permission to Post for Seasonal Worker in the Airport Department
(1).
The Mayor and Aldermen are now in executive session.

per hour in the Recreation/City Pool. The motion was adopted unanimously

$13.00 per hour in the Street Department. The motion was adopted

C. ID-17-0509 New Hire - Recreation Programs (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve New Hire for Baseball/Softball
Certified Umpire at $25.00 per game in the Recreation Programs. The motion
was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

D. ID-17-0510 New Hire - Recreation Programs/City Pool (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve New Hire for 2nd Year Cage at $9.50
per hour in the Recreation Programs/City Pool. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:

E. ID-17-0511 Pay Adjustments - Police Department (3)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustments for Patrol Officer
from $18.05 per hour to $18.25 per hour, Juvenile Investigator from $19.96 per
hour to $20.16 per hour, Patrol Officer from $15.92 per hour to $16.12 per
hour in the Police Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the
following vote:

F. ID-17-0512 Pay Adjustment - Fire Department (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Pay Adjustment for Firefighter III at
$9.92 per hour to Firefighter IV at $10.36 per hour in the Fire Department. The
motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

G. ID-17-0513 Resignation - Street Department (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the
Mayor and Aldermen voted to accept the Resignation of Asphalt Foreman in
the Street Department, effective April 07, 2017. The motion was adopted
unanimously by the following vote:

H. ID-17-0514 Suspension - Sewer Department (1)
On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, the

days in the Sewer Department, for violations of the City Attendance Policy.

On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Thompson, and
unanimously passed, the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg adjourned
to meet 10 o’clock a.m., Tuesday, April 25, 2017, to take up and act upon any and
all matters that may come before the Board.
