ID-17-1250 Continue State of Emergency for Waste Water Treatment Plant Flooding On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to continue the State of Emergency for Waste Water Treatment Plant Flooding. ID-17-1244 Southern Cultural Heritage Center Updates Ms. Stacey Massey Mahoney, of the Southern Cultural Heritage Center came before the Board to inform the public of the upcoming events at the Southern Cultural Heritage Center for the month of September 2017 and invited the public to attend. The Mayor and Aldermen thanked Ms. Massey Mahoney for attending the meeting. C. ID-17-1246 Approve the following requests from Jacob's Ladder Learning Center: 1. Permission to hold a Turkey Trot 5K Walk/Run/1-Mile Fun Run and After Party on Saturday, November 18, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m 2. Close Monroe Street from 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. to accommodate day-of registration, parking, walk/run/fun run, after party, and clean up 3. Close streets via attached route while runners and walkers are present 4. In addition to original route, close area from Monroe Street to Belmont, Washington, and Crawford for Fun Run starting at 9:00 a.m. while runners and walkers are present 5. Mayor to welcome guests to the city and thank those in the community for support 6. Increased police patrol for the duration of the run/walk/fun run 7. Use of Channel 23 to inform community about event Attachments: Jacob's Ladder On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the requests from Jacob's Ladder Learning Center: 1. On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Claims Docket. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Executive Session: Alderman Mayfield moved the Mayor and Aldermen go into a closed meeting to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr.. Voting aye, Mayor Flaggs, Alderman Mayfield, Alderman Monsour, Jr. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether or not they should go into executive session. ID-17-1253 Longevity - Street Department (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve Longevity Pay for Welder from $14.49 per hour to $14.58 per hour in the Street Department, for five (5) years of service. ID-17-1254 New Hire - Park and Recreation Maintenance (1) On motion of Alderman Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the New Hire for Laborer at $8.00 per hour in the Park and Recreation Maintenance Department.
