ID-23-1000 ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING A FINANCIAL COMMITMENT TO VICKSBURG MAIN STREET PROGRAM AS MATCHING FUNDS FOR THE 2024 MISSISSIPPI MAIN STREET REVITALIZATION GRANT PROGRAM Attachments: 2024 main street revitalization grant On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to adopt the Resolution Approving a Financial Commitment to Vicksburg Main Street Program as Matching Funds for the 2024 Mississippi Main Street Revitalization Grant Program. The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether they should go into executive session. Mayor Flaggs, Jr. moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Pay Adjustment - Safety Department (1); Pay Adjustment - Police Department (1); Suspension - Fire Department (1). The motion was seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr. Upon vote being taken, the following voted aye: Mayor Flaggs, Jr., Alderman Mayfield, Sr., Alderman Monsour, Jr. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Pay Adjustment - Safety Department (1); Pay Adjustment - Police Department (1); Suspension - Fire Department (1). This action is to remove the pay due to the Director returning to work on August 7, 2023 in the Safety Department. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 3- Mayor Flaggs Jr., Alderman Mayfield Sr., and Alderman Monsour Jr. B. ID-23-0992 Pay Adjustment - Police Department (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Pay Adjustment of a Patrol Officer from $18.32 per hour to a Patrol Officer/FTO at $19.07 ($18.32+.75) per hour, effective August 14, 2023. Patrol Officer is now serving as a Field Training Officer (FTO) per VPD Policy 3.22 in the Police Department. ID-23-0993 Suspension - Fire Department (1) On motion of Mayor Flaggs, Jr., seconded by Alderman Monsour, Jr., the Mayor and Aldermen voted to approve the Suspension of a Lieutenant I for two (2) shifts (120 hours), effective August 12,15,18,21,24, 2023. Employee is in violation of Vicksburg Fire Department Standard Operating Guideline 12.2.2 and failed to obey directive to wash city waterfront at the Fire Department.
