Walker Building Special Called Meeting 1. Roll Call Also present: Lee Thames, City Attorney Deborah A. Kaiser-Nickson, City Clerk Present: 2- Alderman Thomas Mayfield Alderman Alex J. Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor George Flaggs Jr. Routine Agenda: A. ID-24-1098 Authorize Mayor Pro-Tem to Execute Contract in the amount of $597,000 with Russ Builders, LLC for Ash Meadows Subdivision storm drainage system, sanitary sewer collection system with services, water distribution system with services and erosion control On motion of Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to Authorize Mayor Pro-Tem to Execute Contract in the amount of $597,000 with Russ Builders, LLC for Ash Meadows Subdivision storm drainage system, sanitary sewer collection system with services, water distribution system with services and erosion control. The motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote: Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor Flaggs Jr. Executive Session: Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr. moved the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman to go into a closed meeting to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield Voting aye, Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., Alderman Mayfield, None Voting nay, the motion was unanimously adopted. The Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman discussed whether they should go into executive session. Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr. moved to go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Suspension Pending Termination-Gas Department (1) The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield, Upon vote being taken, the following voted aye: Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour,Jr., Alderman Mayfield. The motion was adopted unanimously. The Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman announced they would go into executive session to discuss Personnel Action Forms for: Suspension Pending Termination-Gas Department (1) The Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman are now in executive session. Those present at the executive session were Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., Alderman Mayfield, Kristen Harris - Chief of Staff, Lee Thames - City Attorney, Deborah A. Kaiser-Nickson- City Clerk, Carla Sullivan-Sanders - Human Resource Director, Kelsey Hicks - Human Resources/Safety, Dane Lovell- Interim Public Works Director, Charlie Hill - Deputy Chief of Police, Joshua Burris- Public Works Project Manager Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor Flaggs Jr. A. ID-24-1099 Suspension Pending Termination - Gas Department (1) City of Vicksburg Page 1 Board of Mayor and Aldermen Special Meeting Minutes - Final September 4, 2024 On motion of Alderman Mayfield, seconded by Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to approve the Suspension Pending Termination of a Serviceman, effective September 4, 2024 in the Gas Department. Employee was suspended for ten (10) days for violating the City of Vicksburg's Drug & Alcohol Policy. The motion was unanimously adopted by the following vote: Aye: 2- Alderman Mayfield, and Alderman Monsour Jr. Absent: 1- Mayor Flaggs Jr. B. ID-24-1115 Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session On motion of Mayor Pro-Tem Monsour, Jr., seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor Pro-Tem and Alderman voted to Come Out of Executive Session and Approve All Items Taken Up in Executive Session.
