Mayor Thompson stated that the request submitted by Roger Harris for the
Vicksburg Vintage Motorcycle Show will bring into favorable notice the
opportunities, possibilities, and resources of the City of Vicksburg and will be
helpful toward advancing the community and tourism interests of the City of
Vicksburg.
The Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Vicksburg Approved the following:
1) Permission to hold the Vicksburg Vintage Motorcycle Show in Downtown
Vicksburg at Washington Street Park on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00
am to 3:00 pm.
2) Use of electricity for the PA System.
3) Sponsorship in the amount of $500.00. This city is authorized pursuant to
Section 17-3-1 and Section 17-3-3 of the Mississippi Code of 1972, as amended.

Mayor Thompson stated that the requests submitted by Southern Heritage Air
Foundation—Sponsorship in the amount of $250.00, assistance from the
Vicksburg Fire Department (see attached emergency plan of action), and
permission to use barricades for the 2025 Air Show at the Vicksburg-Tallulah
Regional Airport—will bring into favorable notice the opportunities, possibilities,

Ms. Donna Gray, of the Vicksburg Convention Center, came before the Board to
inform the public of the upcoming events at the Vicksburg Convention Center for
the month of September 2025 and invited the public to attend. The Mayor and
Aldermen thanked Ms. Gray for attending the meeting.

to determine if the Board should go into executive session. The motion was
seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Voting aye, Mayor Thompson, Alderman
Mayfield, Alderwoman Bailey. None voting nay, the motion was unanimously
adopted.
The Mayor and Aldermen discussed whether they should go into executive
session. Alderwoman Bailey moved to go into executive session to discuss
Personnel Action Forms for: Title Change/Pay Adjustment - Fire Department (2);
Status Change - Ambulance Department (1); Longevity Pay - Purchasing
Department (1); Discussion - Court Services Department (1); Discussion - Potential
Real Estate Matter Department
The motion was seconded by Alderman Mayfield. Upon vote being taken, the
following voted aye: Mayor Thompson, Alderwoman Bailey, Alderman Mayfield.
The motion was adopted unanimously.
The Mayor and Aldermen announced they would go into executive session to

On motion of Alderwoman Bailey, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to Approve the Title Change/Pay Adjustment for an
Associate Fire Chief at $43.7409 per hour to Fire Chief with an annual salary of
$97,150.00, effective August 25, 2025: Title Change/Pay Adjustment for a Training
Officer at $32.1074 per hour to an Associate Fire Chief with an annual salary of
$87,000.00, effective August 25, 2025. Both employees are being promoted. The
motion was adopted unanimously by the following vote:

B. ID-25-0958 Status Change - Ambulance (1)
On motion of Alderwoman Bailey, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to Approve the Status Change for a Firefighter III with an
hourly rate from $14.10 to a Part-Time Emergency Medical Technician at $15.00
per hour, effective September 3, 2025. The motion was adopted unanimously by
the following vote:

C. ID-25-0959 Longevity Pay - Purchasing (1)
On motion of Alderwoman Bailey, seconded by Alderman Mayfield, the Mayor
and Aldermen voted to Approve the Longevity Pay of a Purchasing Specialist in
the Purchasing Department by changing the hourly rate from $14.61 to $14.81
(14.21 + .20 + .20 + .20), effective September 8, 2025. The employee is entitled to
an additional $.20 per hour increase for five (5) years of service. The motion was
adopted unanimously by the following vote:
