Members present: Chairman Robert Leggett, Peggy James; Jennifer Kiefhaber; Robert Holland; Jennifer Morrow Absent: Deepa Chakrapani; Mark Lander Staff Present: Natalie Monkou, Economic Development Manager. 2. Approval of the Minutes: A. TBLC-22170 Acceptance of February 10, 2022, Meeting Minutes The minutes of February 10, 2022 were approved with corrections. Motion, Jennifer Kiefhaber; second, Robert Holland. Motion carried by all present. 3. New Business A. TBLC-22171 TBLC Member Updates Jennifer Morrow, Bards Alley, was welcomed as a new member to the Committee. Jenni Kiefhaber will be stepping into the position of second vice chairman. Two applications have been received for resident positions. These will be held until a resident position on the committee opens. A motion was made to elect Deepa Chakrapani as Vice Chair of the Committee. Motion, Jenni Kiefhaber; second Jen Morrow. Motion carried unanimously. 4. Regular Business A. TBLC-22174 New Member Recruitment Efforts Members reported on new business contacts. Manager Monkou provided Robert Holland a list of all new business openings from June 2021 to present. B. TBLC-22172 Update on Welcoming New Businesses (February) Jen Morrow reported sending a welcome email and letter to the new businesses on her list. New business contact assignments were distributed to members. C. TBLC-22173 Town of Vienna Page 1 Printed on 7/15/2022 Town Business Liaison Committee Meeting Minutes March 10, 2022 Carole Wolfand Award 2022 Updates Two nominations are under consideration for the 2022 award; Body Grace Fitness and Yoga, and Rappaport (Real Estate and Management Co.). Following a show of hands vote a motion was made to award the 2022 Carole Wolfand Award to Body Grace Fitness and Yoga. Motion, Jen Morrow; second, Robert Holland. Motion carried unanimously. Robert Leggett recommended compilation of a file of current and past nominees. This will provide a historical record for future reference. An official award letter will be drafted by Jen Morrow and Robert Leggett. 5. Economic Development Manager Updates A. TBLC-22176 Upcoming and Relevant Town Council Meetings Manager Monkou provided a review of upcoming Town Council meetings and Conference Sessions of interest to Committee members. Discussion of adding a “First Friday” event was proposed as an agenda item for the April TBLC meeting. B. TBLC-22177 Relevant Zoning Updates Manager Monkou presented an update of construction projects planned and on-going. C. TBLC-22178 FY22-23 Proposed Economic Development Budget Manager Monkou reviewed the presentation she presented to Town Council including accomplishments, initiatives and budget request. The request is scheduled for vote as part of the March 21, 2022 Town Council Consent Agenda. She urged members to attend if schedules allowed. 6. Meeting Adjournment A motion was made to adjourn the meeting at 8:25 PM. Motion Jen Morrow; second, Jenni Kiefhaber.
