Meeting commenced at 7:04 p.m.
2. Approval of the Minutes:
VPAC23-289 Approve minutes from the April 18, 2023 meeting
Minutes were accepted as written
VPAC23-290 VPAF Treasurer’s report
The current bank balance is $21,241.40
VPAC23-291 Chairman’s report
Drain art will be removed by Mr. Cheselka in the next two weeks beginning on
Church St.
The BAR application for Harmony Park is complete. Leslie Herman will set up a
meeting with NOVA Parks to determine the site plan.
3. Regular Business
VPAC23-292 Viva Vienna
Ms. Boms and Ms. Barnett are doing project preparation (sticker and backdrop).
Needed items for the day of include: tables from VCC, step stools-Ms. Barrett will
see if she can borrow from her work, VPAC banner, brochures, New Day flyers.
Need volunteers. Mr. Comerford suggested ordering VPAC t-shirts. It was decided
each person will wear a bright colored shirt of their own.
VPAC23-293 Town Hall pipes update
Ms. Cousins reported the design by Teresa Ahmad will be daisies and cardinals. A
larger rendering will be done by the artist and will be voted on and approved by
VPAC. Then Ms. Cousins will submit the application to BAR. Cost of the project is
approximately $1,700.

Ms. Kennedy has presented the project details at two BAR work sessions. She was
provided a list of the comments the Board made for submittal of the application. The
submittal deadline for the June meeting is May 25th.Ms. Biles made a motion to
approve up to $1,600 to cover the cost of the painting by the artist to include supplies
and ownership rights for future imagery. The motion was seconded by Ms. Barrett.
The motion passed unanimously.
VPAC23-295 Grant writer update
The grant writer sent addendums for her contract, which will be amended in the
contract.
New Business
VPAC23-297 New ideas for public art and locations for 2024
Mr. Cheselka asked members to look through the VPAC Master Plan for future ideas.
Ms. Kang made a motion to submit to the Town a consideration of public art in the
Annex planning. Ms. Biles seconded the motion.
4. Meeting Adjournment
Ms. Biles made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Mr. Comerford seconded the
motion. The motion passed unanimously.
