Village of Walden Board of Trustees ORGANIZATIONAL MEETING April 8, 2025 Mayor Pearson called the organizational meeting of the Village of Walden Board of Trustees to order at 6:00 pm. On roll call the following were: Present: Mayor Becky Pearson Deputy Mayor Lynn Thompson Trustees Bill Taylor Ralph Garrison, Jr Cheryl Baker Gerald Mishk Not Present: Liz Kyle Also Present: John Revella, Village Manager Marisa Kraus, Village Clerk Trustee Thompson made a motion to enter into executive session to discuss personal history of a particular employee. Seconded by Trustee Baker. All ayes. Motion carried. Reconvene Trustee Garrison made a motion to reconvene. Seconded by Trustee Taylor. All ayes. Motion carried. Mayor Pearson appointed Gerald Mishk to a 1-year term. Appointments of the Mayor Mayor Pearson appointed Lynn Thompson as Deputy Mayor. Appointments of the Board of Trustees Appointment of Drake & Loeb for Village Attorney. Dominic Cordisco and Sarah Wilson for the Planning and Zoning Board and other council as needed. Appointment of Lanc & Tully as Village Engineer. Appointment of Ryan Khaki, 5-year term and Kristie Hall, 2-year term as Ethics Board members. Appointment of Feerick Nugent MacCartney, PLLC for all Police Matters and Naughten and Torre for all other matters as Special Counsel. Appointment of Rametta & Rametta as the Special Prosecutor. Appointment of Naughten and Torre as the Conflict Counsel. 1 Appointment of Rev. Jim Van Houten, Ani Kunga, Jim O’Connell, Nava Herzog, Gary Swinger, Nicole Hanley as the Police Department Chaplains. Appointment of RBT as Auditors. Designations of the Board of Trustees Designation of the Wallkill Valley Times and Times Herald Record as official newspapers of the Village. Designation of Key Bank, Chase Bank, M&T Bank, Webster Bank, T Rowe and Orange Bank & Trust as official depositories for the Village of Walden. Resolutions of the Board of Trustees Resolution 13-24-25, Setting the Dates, Times & Locations of Board Meetings Deputy Mayor Thompson moved to adopt Resolution 13-24-25 setting the dates, times and locations of Board meetings. Seconded by Trustee Baker. All ayes. Resolution carried. Resolution 14-24-25, Adopting an Investment Policy for the Village of Walden Trustee Garrison moved to adopt Resolution 14-24-25, adopting an investment policy for the Village of Walden. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Thompson. All ayes. Resolution carried. Resolution 15-24-25 Adopting a Procurement Policy for the Village of Walden Trustee Baker made a motion to table Resolution 15-24-25 Adopting a Procurement Policy for the Village of Walden. Seconded by Deputy Mayor Thompson. All ayes. Motion carried. Appointments of the Village Manager Appointment of Acting Village Justice – Sean Hoffman Appointment of Deputy Village Clerk – Kaitlyn Laux Appointment of Registrar of Vital Statistics – Marisa Kraus Appointment of Deputy Registrar of Vital Statistics – Kaitlyn Laux Appointment to Village Historian – Mary Ellen Matise Appointments to Planning Board – Cesar Bobadilla with term ending April 1, 2028. Christopher Batson as alternate with term ending April 1, 2027 and Leslie Dotson with term ending April 1, 2030. Appointments to Zoning Board of Appeals – Bill Sestrom with term ending April 1, 2030. Jerred Sanusi as alternate with term ending April 1, 2030 and Amalie Thomas as alternate with term ending April 1, 2029.
