MINUTES FOR THE REGULAR MEETING
OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL ADVISORY COMMITTE OF THE BOROUGH OF WALDWICK
HELD ON THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 20, 2025
OPENING PORTION
• Call to Order:
o Executive Director Tom McCormick called the meeting to order and read the Statement
of Compliance.
• Roll Call:
o Tom McCormick conducted the roll call. Present were:
▪ Thomas McCormick
▪ Dr. Mohammad Ahsan
▪ David Isaacs
▪ Dan Montella
▪ David Zilkowski
• Council Liaisons:
o Councilman Mark Ramundo
o Councilwoman Michelle Weber
• Approval of Minutes:
o The minutes from the May 25 meeting were approved.
PUBLIC PORTION
o Ted Sanzo from the public discussed posting Styrofoam flyers at the public library.
OLD BUSINESS
• Swearing-In of New Member:
o Paperwork for the swearing-in of Meghan was unavailable. It will be provided for her
official swearing-in at the next meeting.
• Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Drive:
o Tom McCormick will ask the library to post the Styrofoam collection flyer one to two
weeks before the event.
o Councilwoman Weber offered to drop off flyers for distribution.
• Wyckoff Avenue Green Acres Site:
o A date will be scheduled for a property walk of the newly acquired site. Committee
members requested a Saturday, if possible.
• Flower Boxes Project:
o This project remains with Steve. The committee wants to ensure that the grant writers
have all necessary materials. Tom McCormick will follow up with Tatiana.
• Composting Pilot Program:
o This initiative is also with Steve. The committee wants to confirm that the grant writers
have the required information.

o Cassy Hartman spoke with Steve and Tatiana and suggested applying for a state renewal
grant to fund a small-scale composting trial.
• Recycling Can:
o A recycling receptacle is needed at the Department of Public Services.
• Slow Mow Summer:
o The committee discussed inviting a representative from the Native Plant Society of New
Jersey to give a presentation at the library, possibly in March. The program chair is
based in Glen Rock. Tom will check with the library about hosting the event.
• T-Shirts:
o Steve was planning to order shirts before his last day. Tom will follow up with Tatiana
regarding the order status.
NEW BUSINESS
• Committee Membership:
o Dave Zilkowski announced that he will resign from the Environmental Advisory
Committee at the end of the calendar year. A replacement will be needed.
• Next EPS Collection:
o The next Styrofoam Drive is scheduled for Saturday, September 27.
• Next Meeting:
o The next regular meeting will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
CORRESPONDENCE
• None.
ADJOURNMENT
• A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Tom McCormick and seconded by another
committee member. The meeting concluded at approximately 8:30 PM.
Next meeting will be October 16, 2025, at 7:00 PM in the council chambers.
