Waldwick Access for All Meeting Minutes June 9, 2025 The meeting took place at the library. In attendance: Committee members: Jim, Regina, Angela, MaryBeth, & Deb. And guests: Mayor Giordano, Waldwick Board of Education President: Dan Marro, Waldwick Environmental Committee Chair: Tom McCormick and Deb’s Dad, John Arabian. We paused for a moment of silence for the Macleod family. There will be a memorial service for Brennan in Boro Park in July. Details to follow. Thank you, Angela, for organizing our donation to a fund-raiser for the family, and to all who could contribute. Mayor Giordano introduced Dan Marro and Tom McCormick. Tom, who chairs the newly formed environmental committee, explained their mission. They currently have 5 members and will reach out to WAFA for advise for any projects where we may input. Dan Marro explained many facets of the ongoing school renovations. In particular, he outlined the quantity and placement of accessible parking spots in renovated areas and his support for WAFA goals as they relate to the BOE moving forward. NJT: A teams meeting is set for June 18th to discuss changes needed at our RR station. Many its were discussed including that there is a plate missing at the platform. LION’s Park: We aired frustration that we were to be included in reviewing digital plans for park renovation details, but were over-stepped despite Jim’s efforts for communication and many follow ups over the past months. Steve Neale needs to be contacted for how to prevent this from happening agan. After receipt of our mailer, Waldwick resident, Cristina Marcovich reach out to us regarding how they can bring awareness to WAFA. Deb spoke with her. Her company, TF Pharmacies, runs several local pharmacies, the closest of which is Hohokus Pharmacy. SOCIAL MEDIA INTERN: Angela has been in touch with Waldwick Sophomore, Gianna Marco, about the intern role. More to come. Also, there was discussion about providing a financial scholarship for our interns moving forward.
