Welcomed new members from Parks and Rec Committee
Business Update:
Walker Chamber hosting another Walker After Work Sept 26 at Lost Art Brewery

Walker Chamber plans to host job fair next spring
Mayor's Summer Reading Program
Scheduled for final few days of May
J Wilmers collected info to start prepping for the Mayor's Summer Reading
Program
J Wilmers says Chick-fil-A will donate kids' meals to kids who finish project
M Wieber offered up The Local as a drop-off for books
N Erickson offered his office at Modern Woodson as another drop off location
E Huizenga-Chase suggested collecting books in February
Begin Feb 5 and ends March 22
Six-week donation period
N DiDonato will draft up donation slips

motion passes
1,255 kids in 4th, 5th, and 6th graders
Schools include Kenowa Public, West Michigan Environmental Academy,
Walker Charter, Cummings Elementary
Neighborhood Update:
Possible cookouts in each ward next year
Locations to be City parks
Alpine Estates - Ward 1
City Central - Ward 2
Community Park - Ward 3
E Jewell updated the CEC about the Parks Master Plan
goal now is to help create engagement for the parksyear-round
L Bigelow, E Jewell, and H Guild will update the CEC with the new Parks and
Master plan next meeting
