Committee members: Discussion Items 1. Approval of Previous Minutes 2. Neighborhood Updates 3. Business Updates 4. Mayor's Summer Reading Program Updates 5. Winterfest Volunteer Opportunities:  Looking for 3 - 4 volunteers to help with visitor line in Santa's room.  Date is Thursday, Nov 30.  Asking volunteers to be at the Walker Ice and Fitness Center by 5 p.m. Adjournment Next meeting is Thursday, Dec 7 at 5:30 pm Walker City Hall Page 1 of 5 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES COMMISSION CONFERENCE ROOM THURSDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2023 5:30 PM Call Meeting to Order - Record Attendance Committee members: Discussion Items - Attendance: H Guild, N Erickson, E Gregones, LA Gray, J Wilmers, C Hendon, M Wieber, E Huizenga-Chase, J Babcock, N DiDonato, E Nowak C Hendon motioned to approve the minutes N Erickson seconded Business Update N Erickson said the Walker Chambers will be doing a year-long planning session on October 27 Neighborhood Updates S Kolakowski reached out to her neighborhood about a neighborhood watch. Plans to hold a first meeting with neighbors and police on October 16. Location and time TBD Discussed block parties for each Wards. Looking at Tuesday, June 18 3 parks would be: Community Park, City Central, & Alpine Estates Mayor's Reading Initiative Keeping the focus of targeting 2nd graders going into 3rd. Trunk or Treat Central Elementary is holding a trunk or treat and looking for businesses/organizations to take part. H Guild gave brief presentation of the Park Master Plan the former Parks and Rec Committee completed earlier this year.
