Parks and Rec Month - Adjournment Page 1 of 3  COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES COMMISSION CONFERENCE ROOM TUESDAY, APRIL 9, 2024 5:30 PM Call Meeting to Order - Record Attendance Committee members present: Roxanne Deschaine; Erin Nowak; Erin Gregones; Bethany Stover; Jena Wilmers Discussion Items Approval of Previous Minutes - Jena Motioned; Bethany seconded Park Parties - Action items distributed via Email & Slack; Limited to Alpine Estates Park; will rotate parks over the years or if multiple dates occur yearly Water: Bethany will send donation letter to Carla for donation of water jugs from Meijer; Triangle Construction will man water booth CEC Booth to include survey and voter registration information Mayor's Reading Initiative - Decided to utilize digital version of flyer to distribute to three schools; Bethany to get in contact with Grandville for Cummings Readings during contest: Mayor, Police & Fire Chief, Teachers, etc. (Erin Nowak has list) to do spotlights on social media (Via photos, reels; and/or YouTube/Facebook Live). Need dates from Mayor for delivery of bags and books for stuffing/distribution; readings and potential PJ party reading at library 6/7 is potential last day of school for KH; aim for week of Memorial Day for delivery. Many great ideas gathered for institution in 2025 Supply Drive Check-in - Limited to Alpine Elementary Collection: Post July 4 through second week of August Erin will talk with FedEx to get boxes for donation locations Potentially speak with principal to make a video for the drive Community Engagement Committee Minutes 4-9-24 Page 1 2 of 2 3  General - Potential for CEC shirts for events Next meeting to focus on wrapping up park parties July is Parks Month – note made to discuss Photos in Park drawing Discussion regarding diversity inclusion; tabled until events on lock Engagement idea for Walker Trivia; including Commissioners reading a question at meeting Adjournment - Next Meeting is Thursday, May 2 Community Engagement Committee Minutes 4-9-24 Page 2 3 of 2 3
