Town of Wallburg, North Carolina Town Council Meeting - Wallburg Town Hall 8020 N. NC-HIGHWAY 109 TUESDAY 7:00 P.M. November 13 2018 2ND TUESDAY OF THE MONTH MINUTES PROCEDURAL ITEMS CALL TO ORDER Mayor Allen Todd called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Present were the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem Zane Hedgecock, Council Members, Lynn Reece, Mark Swaim, and Councilwoman Cindy Johnson, and Councilman Steve Yokeley. The town’s attorney, Jay Wagner, was present along with the town clerk, Donna Alwine. After an invocation by Councilman Mark Swaim, Councilman Steve Yokeley led the pledge of allegiance. MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF AGENDA Mayor Pro Tem Zane Hedgecock made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. Councilwoman Cindy Johnson and Councilman Steve Yokeley seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. MOTION FOR APPROVAL OF DRAFT MINUTES  October 9, 2018 Regular Meeting Minutes MINUTES for the above regular meeting were unanimously approved on a motion by Councilman Lynn Reece, seconded by Councilman Mark Swaim. The motion passed unanimously. PUBLIC SESSION  PLEASE SIGN UP WITH TOWN CLERK/Mayor – 3-MINUTE TIME LIMIT FOR SPEAKING No Speakers BUSINESS TO BE DISCUSSED AND/OR ACTED UPON: 1. Mr. John Frye with NC Capital Management Trust introduced himself to Councilman Swaim prior to the meeting and left information for the finance committee. REGULAR MONTHLY AND COMMITTEE UPDATES AS AVAILABLE (COMMITTEE UPDATES WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE IF MEETING WAS NOT HELD OR UNATTENDED) 1. Finance Update – Mark Swaim A brief update on the finances of the Town for October: CASH $ 2,410,645.78 CAPITAL FUND-First National $ 650,909.09 MONEY MARKET-Capital Bank $ 249,114.60 TAXES RECEIVABLE $ 7,862.84 DUE FROM OTHER GOVTS. $ 156,924.30 TOTAL: $ 3,475,456.61 2. Wall Home Update – The exterior of the home is being painted. The painters are having to repair broken and rotted pieces as they come upon them. 3. Town Hall Park Construction -Waiting on the weather to break so that construction can begin again. 4. Revitalization Grant – Currently working on the preparation and date to hold an open house for the citizens to give input at the Wall home. 5. MPO – High Point – Lynn Reece - Councilman Lynn Reece attended the monthly MPO meeting, nothing relevant to the Town of Wallburg was discussed. 6. MPO - Winston-Salem - Mayor Allen Todd – Mayor Todd will attend the upcoming meeting for November 15, 2018. OTHER INFORMATON: Mayor Pro Tem Zane Hedgecock gave an update on how the State Fair went, along with updates on the damage from the previous hurricane from the state level. At 7:15 P.M.
