Subject Matter: The Petitioner seeks a sign variance from Article VII of the Waltham Zoning Ordinance (“WZO”), Massachusetts to vary the sign criteria set forth in Article VI, §§ 6.63(b), 6.63(c), and 6.6662. Location and Zoning District: 200 West Street, Commercial Zoning District. Provisions of Zoning Ordinance Involved: Article VI, §§ 6.63(b), 6.63(c), and 6.6662. Specific Relief Sought: The Petitioner seeks a variance from Article VI, §§ 6.63(b), 6.63(c), and 6.6662 to construct two main monument signs, one of which does not meet the required setback, and six directional signs which exceed the permitted size. Due to the shape of the lot, strict compliance with the WZO’s sign requirements would present a hardship.
