COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Washington, DC 20004 CHAIRMAN PHIL MENDELSON COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE ANNOUNCES A PUBLIC HEARING on PR 24-380, Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map and Generalized Policy Map Approval Resolution of 2021 on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, 10:00 a.m. Live via Zoom Video Conference Broadcast Chairman’s Website (www.ChairmanMendelson.com/live) Council Chairman Phil Mendelson announces a public hearing before the Committee of the Whole on PR 24-380, the “Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map and Generalized Policy Map Approval Resolution of 2021.” The hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 via Zoom Video Conference. The stated purpose of PR 24-380 is to approve the updated District of Columbia Future Land Use Map and Generalized Policy Map transmitted by the Mayor. Bill 24-1, the Comprehensive Plan Amendment Act of 2021 (“act”) was adopted by the Council on May 18, 2021 and reviewed and approved by the National Capital Planning Commission on July 1, 2021. The legislation completed its Congressional review period and became law on September 24, 2021. Pursuant to the act, the Mayor must transmit final maps reflecting the Council’s amendments contained in the act, and the Council must hold a public hearing to determine if the maps conform to the act and adopt the maps by resolution. The purpose of this hearing is to determine if the maps reflect the Council amendments. This hearing is not an opportunity to request changes to the maps as that is not possible with this resolution. Those who wish to testify must register at http://www.ChairmanMendelson.com/testify by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, November 1, 2021. Testimony is limited to four minutes. Witnesses who anticipate needing spoken language interpretation, or require sign language interpretation, are requested to inform the Committee office of the need as soon as possible but no later than five business days before the proceeding. We will make every effort to fulfill timely requests, although alternatives may be offered. Requests received in less than five business days may not be fulfilled. If you are unable to testify at the hearing, written statements are encouraged and will be made a part of the official record.
