Village of Waterford Fire Commission July 13 th, 2021 Minutes Present: Janice Piper, Jennifer Denton, Ken Thiede, James Zuehlke Also present: Chief Rick Mueller, Colleen Schauer Zuehlke called the meeting to order at 5:06 pm. Reading and Approval of Minutes: Motion by Thiede to approve the May 11th, 2021 minutes. Second by Denton. All aye. Motion carried. New Business: Review and act on applications for positions with the department. Motion to adjourn into closed session by Denton for the purposes of considering Fire & EMS staff hiring and other business at 5:08 pm, second by Piper. All aye. Motion carried. Roll call vote: Thiede - aye; Denton – aye; Piper – aye, Zuehlke- aye. Motion carried. Thiede motioned to reconvene into open session at 5:29 pm; second by Denton. All aye. Motion carried. Motion by Piper to add Lucery to the eligibility list pending background check; second by Thiede. All aye. Motioned carried. Chief Mueller indicated it is his intent to hire Lucery. Piper motioned to accept Chief Mueller’s intent to hire Lucery pending background check. Second by Denton. All aye, Motion carried. Thiede motioned to approve Chief Mueller beginning the processes of the hiring of a full-time position at the Fire Department. Second by Denton. All aye. Motion carried.
