May 9, 2023 Minutes
Present: James Zuehlke, Janice Piper, Jennifer Denton, Bonnie Schauer, Ken Thiede
Also present: Rachel Ladewig, Chief Kevin Hafemann
Zuehlke called the meeting to order at 5:30 pm.
Reading and Approval of Minutes: Motion by Schauer, second by Thiede to approve the 3-21-
23 Fire Commission Minutes. All aye. Motion carried. Motion by Schauer, second by Denton to
approve the 4-11-23 Fire Commission Minutes. All aye. Motion carried.
Closed Session :
Motion by Thiede, second by Schauer to adjourn into closed session for the purposes of
considering Fire & EMS staff hiring and other business at 5:31 pm. All Aye. Motion carried.
Schauer motioned, second by Thiede to reconvene into open session at 5:48 pm. All aye.
Motion carried.
Motion by Piper, second by Schauer to follow the Chief’s recommendation to hire Alexander
Klamm. All aye. Motion carried.
Motion my Schauer to appoint Piper as the next Fire Commission President as James Zuehlke
is stepping down. All aye. Motion carried.
Motion by Thiede, second by Schauer to adjourn at 5:54 pm. All aye. Motion carried.

and Rescue department in accordance with 19.85(1)(c).
Reconvene into Open Session
3. Review and act on employment for the department.
