VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE BOARD OF REVIEW MEETING 500 West Main Street June 1, 2017 - 5:00 PM Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER The 2017 Village of Waunakee Board of Review was called to order by Village Clerk Julee Helt at 5:01 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Al Dassow, Kevin Laffey, David Kennedy, Joe Zitzelsberger, Julee Helt, Tom Wilson Absent: None Also Present: Dean Peters, Ryan Anderson, Laurie Helt PUBLIC COMMENT There was no comment from the public. Clerk Helt confirmed proper notice of Board of Review had been given, and she presented the completed assessment roll to the members of the Board of Review. Clerk Helt also reported that she and Tom Wilson had attended Board of Review as required by statute on May 9, 2017. Village Assessors Dean Peters and Ryan Anderson stated that Open Book had concluded, all reports had been filed with the Wisconsin Department of Revenue, the Assessor's Affidavit had been signed, and the 2017 level of assessment was approximately 90%. Motion by Tom Wilson, second by Kevin Laffey, to appoint Al Dassow as Chair. Motion Passed. For: 4, Against: 0, Absent: 2. Joe Zitzelsberger arrived at 5:02 p.m. Motion by Tom Wilson, second by Al Dassow, to appoint Kevin Laffey as Vice-Chair. Motion Passed. For: 5, Against: 0, Absent: 1. David Kennedy arrived at 5:03 p.m. NEW BUSINESS 1. Objection for Real Property Assessment-Gary Kohlenberg, 211 Moravian Valley Road Motion by Tom Wilson, second by David Kennedy, to find St. John Properties Inc. c/o MIE Properties, Inc. and their agent Chad Zeznanski, Wipfli LLP, in default for failure to appear at Board of Review as requested, therefore sustaining the assessor's land value of $713,500, improvement value of $2,830,500, for a total value of $3,544,000. Motion Passed. For: 6 - Al Dassow, Kevin Laffey, David Kennedy, Joe Zitzelsberger, Julee Helt, Tom Wilson, Against: 0, Absent: 0. 2. Objection for Real Property Assessment-Chad Zeznanski, 202 Moravian Valley Road Agent Gary Kohlenberg, acting on behalf of Moravian Valley Road Properties LLC, withdrew his objection and request for appearance before the Board of Review prior to commencement of the meeting. ADJOURN Motion by David Kennedy, second by Joe Zitzelsberger, to adjourn the 2017 Board of Review sine die at 7:01 p.m. Motion Passed. For: 6, Against: 0, Absent: 0.
