VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE BOARD OF REVIEW 201 N Madison Street June 8, 2021 5:00 PM Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER The June 8, 2021 Board of Review meeting was called to order by Village Clerk Caitlin Stene at 5:01 p.m. ROLL CALL Present: Kaleb Gottswald, Steve Miller, David Kennedy, Tom Wilson, Joe Zitzelsberger, Caitlin Stene Not Present: Matthew Long Also Present: Gabe Altenbernd (Communications and Management Intern), Dean Peters (Village Assessor), Deirdre Vanko (Village Assessor) CONFIRMATION OF BOARD OF REVIEW AND OPEN MEETING COMPLIANCE Public postings, official notices, and online availability were confirmed by Clerk Caitlin Stene for open meeting compliance. NEW BUSINESS 1 Selection of Chairperson and Vice-Chairperson for Board of Review Motion by Joe Zitzelsberger, second by David Kennedy, to appoint Tom Wilson as the Chair of the Board of Review. Motion Passed. For: 6, Against: 0. Motion by David Kennedy, second by Caitlin Stene, to appoint Joe Zitzelsberger as the Vice-Chair of the Board of Review. Motion Passed. For: 6, Against: 0. 2 Verification of Mandatory Training Requirements Caitlin Stene, Village Clerk, verified that the Board of Review had verification of mandatory training requirements for the assessment year 2021. 3 Filing and Summary of Annual Assessment Report by Village Assessor Dean Peters, Village Assessor, provided an overview of the annual maintenance process that was completed for the 2021 assessment year. 4 Receive Assessment Roll and Sworn Statements Village Assessor provided to the Village Clerk the completed assessment role and both signed the sworn statement. 5 Examination of Assessment Role, Correction of Errors, Add Omitted Property, and Elimination of Double Assessed Property Members of the Board of Review examined the 2021 assessment role. 6 Verification with Assessor that Open Book changes are reflected in Assessment Role Village Assessor verified that all open book corrections are reflected in the current assessment role. Chair Wilson motion the Board of Review off the record at 5:09 p.m. for the purpose of continued examination of the assessment role and to continue to be available for any property owner who wishes to appear in front of the Board to object to their 2021 property assessment. Chair Wilson motion the Board of Review back on the record at 7:01 p.m. No property owners appeared before the Board of Review to object to their 2021 property assessment. ADJOURN Motion by Steve Miller, second by David Kennedy, to adjourn at 7:02 p.m. Motion Passed. For: 6, Against: 0.
