PRESENTATIONS
1 Presentation By Nick Mischler RE Waunakee Sculpture Committee
Presentation by Nick Mischler, Kathy Bartling and Kevin Laffey regarding the sculpture at
Waunakee High school with video, photo and discussion. They had 12 Members on their
committee; school students helped design the sculpture along with artist Michael Kalisch and
they used help from many different sources for the $200,000.00+ project that took over 5
years from start to finish. Would be interested in helping with any future public sculpture
plans the committee would want to look into.
OLD BUSINESS
NEW BUSINESS
1 Sub-Committee Project Updates
No Motion. Discussion Only. Members gave updates to rest of the committee on the
following projects:

status.
Live from the Park – In holding path but bands/vendors are booked, just waiting to see how
timing looks.
Culinary Promotion – Brainstormed Ideas for events and are sending email to local
restaurants to gauge their interest in those ideas.
Cultural Awareness – Working on holding live interview/Q&A sessions with local residents
from different backgrounds about what makes Waunakee Home and about their culture.
Committee Member Bios – Plan is to have all committee members on the website. Asked
members to respond to the email sent RE questions for bio. Will be sending out the
information to members who did not receive it.
Innovation Center Collaboration –Had been planning to have 2 events per month but
couldn’t start due to COVID. They are working with area businesses and could address tours
of the facility after June 30. Can work together in future when things are open.
150th Celebration – Letter going to all groups that would potentially want to be a part of the
effort to indicate Create Waunakee’s potential role in the event and garner interest.
Imagination Celebration – Will be reaching out to previous leaders from this event and
gauge interest in helping again. Planning for this takes 6 months or more, so timing is still to
be determined.
WRAP – Cancelled and will hold live event in the next years WRAP program.
