VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE TOWN OF WESTPORT JOINT PLAN COMMISSION MEETING 500 West Main Street August 9, 2022 6:00 PM Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER Mr. Sipsma called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. ROLL CALL: Present: Ken Sipsma, Mark Trotter, Dennis Tande, Brian Wallace, Chris Thomas, Brian Malich Absent: None Also Present: Nick Urumoglu, Rick Kaltenberg, Konner Kearney MINUTES 1 June 14, 2022 Motion Thomas, second Wallace, to approve the minutes from the June 14, 2022 Joint Plan Commission meeting as presented. Motion carried. PUBLIC COMMENT None NEW BUSINESS 1 Public Hearing and Discussion/Action on a Request by Richard Kaltenberg for a Conditional Use Permit to Allow an Accessory Structure Exceeding the 800 Square Foot Limit, 6188 County Road I, Town of Westport Richard Kaltenberg would like to add a storage building at his home at 6188 CTH I in the Waunakee ETZ for his personal use. He is asking for a 36’ by 56’ building to be on the northeast corner of the property within the proper setbacks. The public hearing was opened at 6:10 p.m. There was no one present to speak. The public hearing was closed at 6:11 p.m. Motion Thomas, second Trotter, to approve the CUP for a shed at 6188 County Road I in accordance with the request of Richard Kaltenberg, and recommend final approval of the project by the Town Board. Motion carried. 2 Concept Plan for an 85-Unit Residential Townhome Style Development Located Along the East Side of Simon Crestway on Outlot 2, Woodland Crest Plat Forward Development Group is seeking feedback regarding a proposed concept plan for an 85-unit residential townhome style development located along the east side of Simon Crestway on Outlot 2, Woodland Crest. The lands are within the woodland Crest development area but are currently zoned A-1 and will require a rezone to a suitable designation. The Village Plan Commission was presented with the project the previous evening and the consensus was that the applicant was moving in the right direction compared to where the first proposal began, but more attention should be given to how the density and building massing could better transition to the neighboring single-family homes, especially in the area north of the Dolan cul de sac. The Joint Plan Commission members echoed the Villages concerns and commented on the lack of visitor parking, density and connectivity of sidewalks to adjacent neighborhoods. No action taken.
