VILLAGE OF WAUNAKEE Parks and Recreation Committee April 2, 2014 The April 2, 2014 Parks and Recreation Committee meeting was called to order by chairman Chris Zellner at 5:45 pm. PRESENT: Brian Hauke, Chris Zellner, John Pomeranke, Mark Mathwig, Brian Malich, Phil Willems, and Gary Herzberg. ALSO PRESENT: Juan Lopez, Sue McDade - Community Services Director, Bill Frederick – Streets and Parks Supervisor, Rick Moran – Streets and Parks Foreman, Jeff Skoug – Recreation Supervisor. MINUTES A motion by Phil Willems/Brian Hauke to approve the minutes of the March 5, 2014 Park and Recreation Committee meetings was approved. PUBLIC COMMENT Bill Frederick introduced Rick Moran to the Committee, Rick has recently been promoted to serve as the Village’s Streets and Parks Foreman. NEW BUSINESS 1. Consider Request for Tournament Dates and Fee Waiver for the Waunakee Softball Booster Club – June 28-29 A motion by Phil Willems/Brian Hauke to approve the Waunakee Softball Booster club’s tournament on June 28-29 and the associated shelter fee waiver was approved. 2. Consider Placement of Tennis Ball Recycling System in Ripp Park A motion by Gary Herzberg/Mark Mathwig to approve the installation of a tennis ball recycling system in Ripp Park was approved. 3. Consider Request from Lights Out Softball for a Tournament on June 7 & u, 2014 Juan Lopez appeared before the committee to share his plans for this tournament. A motion by Gary Herzberg/Phil Willems to approve the request for the Lights Out softball team tournament on June 7 & 8, with shelter fees (softball shelter – 2 days, main shelter – 1 day) and field grooming fees to apply was approved. Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting Minutes – April 2, 2014 – page 2.
